Den Komtur, der seine Tochter sch\u00fctzen wollte, hat er ermordet, Donna Elvira aus dem Kloster entf\u00fchrt, geheiratet und verlassen. Die ganze Lust der Liebe liegt in der Abwechslung \u2013 eine Heirat ist f\u00fcr ihn wie ein Schluck Wasser.\u00a0<br><br>Fasziniert und besorgt begleitet Sganarelle, Don Juans Diener, die erotischen Abenteuer seines Herrn, der sich \u00fcber alle Konventionen hinwegsetzt und weder an Himmel noch H\u00f6lle glaubt. Weder f\u00fcrchtet er die Rache von Donna Elviras Br\u00fcdern, die ihn verfolgen, noch den Fluch seines Vaters, der ihn wegen seines amoralischen Lebenswandels verurteilt.\u00a0Auf dem Friedhof entdeckt er das Grab und die Statue des von ihm get\u00f6teten Komturs und l\u00e4dt sie zu sich ein. Als der steinerne Gast tats\u00e4chlich zum Abendessen erscheint, wird Don Juans letzte Herausforderung zum Gottesgericht.\u00a0&#8222;<br><br>Den Don-Juan-Stoff lernte Moli\u00e8re durch die Commedia dell\u2019arte kennen. Aus dem adligen W\u00fcstling der italienischen Vorlagen machte er einen schillernden Freigeist, in dem sich die weltanschaulichen K\u00e4mpfe einer Gesellschaft im Umbruch spiegeln.
